His work is driven by a deep interest in the economic principles that underpin competition law, and law more broadly. His expertise in both law and economics enables him to develop an in-depth understanding of markets, allowing him to offer clients advice that is precise, forward-looking, and practical.
Shashank’s contributions to competition policy include active participation in the Competition Law Review Committee (CLRC), notably in the Working Group on Big Data and New Age Markets, where he leveraged his expertise in multi-sided digital platforms, and advising a sovereign nation-state on an overhaul of its competition law regime. He has also lent his expertise to a global consulting consortium on market studies examining digital platform regulation in the European Union and conducted several competition law training programs for private and public sector organisations.
His interdisciplinary doctoral research project analyses competition law enforcement in the context of multi-sided platforms, with a focus on optimal damages and remedies. Shashank has also served as Visiting Faculty at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, where he taught an antitrust law and policy course.
Outside of work, Shashank’s lifelong passion is literature, followed closely by cricket and cinema, with a strong amateur interest in philosophy.
