Ravi specializes in complex merger approvals and antitrust litigation. He advises clients on internal competition compliance audits and competition-friendly business strategies. His industry experience spans traditional sectors like steel, automobiles, airlines, tires, electrical components, pharmaceuticals, and agro-chemicals, as well as digital sectors such as online marketplaces, food delivery apps, online accommodation providers, travel aggregators, and app-based taxi services. Ravi is experienced in handling DG investigations and CCI pleadings on both behavioral and merger control matters. He advises on risk mitigation for strategic deals and has represented clients before the CCI, NCLAT, various High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India. He enjoys analyzing the interplay between competition law principles and clients' business strategies and has contributed to academic journals. Before joining the firm, Ravi was part of AZB & Partners’ competition practice and has also worked as a Senior Associate with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.

When not working, Ravi lives in Lucknow enjoys the true crime genre, cooking, and sampling Lucknow’s famous street food (chaat).

Notable work:

  • Advised on notable cartel matters before the CCI in various sectors, including paper and airlines
  • Represented and advised a leading online hospitality company against allegations of vertical restraints before the CCI and the Gujarat High Court in a successful challenge against the CCI’s adverse interim order
  • Advised a leading app-based taxi service company in relation to allegations of abuse of dominance
  • Involved in an internal antitrust compliance investigation for a leading steel company
  • Advised on high-stakes mergers (including notable PE transactions) across sectors such as: online marketplaces, internet-enabled services, online food delivery, textiles, pharmaceuticals, power, steel, cable & DTH, logistics, agro-chemicals and agricultural products
  • Involved in negotiating and implementing remedies in mergers in the agro-chemicals sector and the iron ore processing sectors
  • Represented a leading tyre company before the NCLAT against the CCI’s infringement order in relation to allegations of cartelisation
