We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on a consulting basis. As Axiom5’s CTO, you – either individually or as part of a team – will be the architect and driver of AI enabled technology and legal solutions at Axiom5. This is not a traditional, office-bound technology role – it is a dynamic, project-based engagement for a self-starter who either individually or as part of a team thrives on solving real problems with cutting-edge tools. You (or your organization) will work remotely and be engaged on a per-project basis, stepping in as needed to design, build, and deploy solutions that make our lawyers sharper, faster, and more effective. The role is designed to offer complete autonomy with clear accountability for outcomes.
Own and implement AI-enabled workflows across the firm, which includes identifying where AI can be leveraged to unlock the most benefit for our team.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all lawyers at Axiom5 when they want to leverage AI - translating legal needs into technical solutions, and provide hands-on guidance and training on the use of technology.
Design and build internal apps, tools, and websites to support firm operations and client work.
Stay ahead of the AI curve and proactively bring new capabilities to the firm's attention.
A degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field - or equivalent hands-on professional experience.
Deep, current knowledge of the AI ecosystem: LLMs, machine learning, automation tools, prompt engineering, and emerging platforms, preferably with experience in developing and deploying legal technology solutions/products.
Proven ability to design and build functional, well-designed apps and web interfaces.
Exceptional communication skills, and strong design sensibility.
An entrepreneurial mindset: self-motivated, ambitious, and comfortable operating with autonomy.
A genuine curiosity about how AI can reshape knowledge work - especially legal practice.
Fully remote - work from wherever you do your best thinking.
Project-based engagement - you are - either individually or part of a team of similarly qualified professionals- brought in for specific projects and initiatives, not on a fixed daily schedule. Subject to conflicts, you and/or your team retain the flexibility to consult for other organisations/individuals while adhering to and maintaining confidentiality over Axiom5 related engagement and data.
Compensation will be discussed and agreed on a per-project basis.
We encourage only 4th and 5th year students (enrolled in a 5-year integrated course) and 2nd and 3rd year students (enrolled in a 3-year LLB course) with prior academic and professional experience to apply for one-month in-person internships.
We also accept international applicants enrolled in a JD/LLB or equivalent professional law degree with a background/interest in antitrust law/public policy.
We offer a stipend of INR 15,000 to interns, to defray costs associated with the internship.
Please apply for your internship 3 months in advance of when you’d like to intern. Internship requests with a starting date of less than 3 months in advance will not be considered. Please do not apply for an internship more than 4 months in advance. We will be in touch if you are shortlisted.
Please submit applications through this portal only, as we do not accept internship requests through emails to individual team members or messages on other platforms, such as LinkedIn.
We appreciate your interest in Axiom5 and will be in touch with shortlisted candidates.
