Shruti built her career as a competition lawyer at two of India’s foremost competition law practices, where she gained experience in antitrust enforcement, litigation and merger control, having handled several multi-jurisdictional transactions from start to finish. At Axiom5, her work has focused on the regulation of digital markets and the intersection between competition law and privacy regulation.
As Knowledge Management Counsel at Axiom5, she leverages this deep institutional knowledge in a specialized role focused on capability building and developing strategies to support the practice, by actively equipping Axiom5’s lawyers to learn and deliver at their highest potential.
Her training in design helps her to think creatively, communicate effectively, and break down complex issues into concrete action, making her uniquely suited to drive Knowledge Management and AI stewardship at Axiom5. She continues to contribute to competition policy advocacy by tracking global regulatory changes, helping shape policy mandates and supporting government consultation submissions.
Outside of work, Shruti divides her time between Bengaluru and Darbhanga, teaching at various law universities, tending to two terrace gardens and her (growing) number of cats.
Contributed to research and policy advocacy on the draft Digital Competition Bill.
Developed stakeholder submissions to the Competition Commission of India on significant amendments to the Competition Act, 2002, rules and regulations, including on merger control, settlements and commitments and leniency.
